Baseball: It’s on to the 10th inning in Division I semifinal

Jonathan Meyer of Simi Valley got out of the ninth inning with an assist from left fielder Chance Cross, who threw out a Mater Dei runner trying to stretch a single into a double. Mater Dei and fourth-seeded Simi Valley are tied, 5-5, going into the 10th inning of their Southern Section-Toyota Division I semifinal at UC Riverside.

Feel sympathy for Long Beach Wilson and Norco. Their players have been sitting and waiting to play at the conclusion of the Mater Dei-Simi Valley game. Their game was supposed to start at 7 p.m.
