Crenshaw capped a huge comeback and defeated Lincoln, 6-5, in nine innings to win the City Section’s Invitational title. Crenshaw (19-4) was seeded 17th and came back from a 4-1 deficit going into the seventh inning. Lincoln (24-6-1) was seeded No. 11.

Brittani Price drew a two-out walk from reliever Amber Cabada (5-1), which brought state single-season home run leader Alia Williams to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning. Williams, who has 19 home runs, delivered her 68th RBI of the season -- on a full-count walk.

Lindsey Irving then scored on a wild pitch, and Andrea Edwards struck out on the next pitch.

But the two runs gave Crenshaw a 6-4 lead, and pitcher Irving (18-4) was able to escape the bottom of the ninth. Vanessa Hernandez drove in one run with a grounder to second base, and Diana Torres singled, but she didn’t get past second base. Irving got a strikeout and pop-up to end the game.
