Another week, another Bruin commit re-evaluating his future. ... For the second time in 10 days, or so, UCLA suffered a crushing blow to its 2009 recruiting class after learning that Marlon Pollard won’t be spending the next four years of his life in Westwood. Instead, the 6-foot-1 senior is heading to the Midwest, more specifically, Notre Dame.
He planned to attend UCLA before his junior season at Valencia. Plenty has changed since then, including a transfer to Cajon earlier this year followed by an offer from the Fighting Irish in May and a visit to South Bend a few weeks later. According to these quotes, the decision to join Charlie Weis & Co. was made over the weekend.
The Bruin faithful must be familiar with this blog by now. It’s the one that surfaced on the Internet last Monday indicating Byron Moore had a change of heart and the senior from Narbonne was no longer interested in UCLA -- his new destination was USC. I’m betting the news of Pollard will end up being just as devastating.
