Softball: Norco defeats Hart

Kelsey Gerhart’s bases-loaded, one-out single in the fifth inning gave Norco all the runs it needed in a 2-0 victory over Hart in a Southern Section Division I softball semifinal at Norco High.

Hart had two hits in the last inning, but Nicole Sappingfield threw out Jessica Shults at home for the final out.

Norco’s Stanford-bound Teagan Gerhart pitched a two-hitter, striking out 10. UCLA-bound Destiny Rodino of Hart pitched a five-hitter, striking out five.
