With two out and the bases loaded in the top of the sixth inning, Capistrano Valley Coach Bob Zamora decided it was time to bring in Tyler Matzek to pitch against Edison’s Tanner Phillips in a scoreless game.

Matzek’s first pitch was a ball. His second was a pop up caught by the player Matzek replaced, Kevin Chambers, getting the Cougars out of the inning.

Matzek has 2 2/3 innings of pitching eligibility left in this scoreless Division I final.
