Girls’ basketball: Orange Lutheran names Tom Howard coach

Tom Howard, an assistant coach for 10 years, has been named head coach at Orange Lutheran, succeeding Tony Matson, who died on April 24.

‘I have had the great privilege to be a part of this program and work with Tony Matson,’ Howard said. ‘I will always be grateful for the things I have learned from his leadership, support, and most importantly, our friendship.’

The Lady Lancers went 25-4 last season and reached their first Southern Section final since 1981.
