The first half between Oaks Christian and Alemany has mostly been defined by both team’s ability to force turnovers as well as their struggle in maintaining possession.

Oaks Christian got on board early 7-0 after Malcolm Jones recovered a fumble. Alameny answered two plays after Malcolm Marable intercepted a pass from Lions quarterback Nick Montana.

In the second quarter, Alemany got on the board again thanks to defensive back Saladin McCullough forcing and recovering a fumble at Oak Christian’s 13-yard line. Despite being within striking distance, the Warriors could only muster a field goal --a 22-yard attempt from Martin Meza -- to make it 14-10 with 2:45 remaining.

Oaks Christian ended halftime on a high note with the Lions mustering a 13-play, 80-yard drive. It ended with Montana connecting with receiver Blair Holliday for a 12-yard touchdown pass. Campbell Davis’ extra point made it 21-10 with 17.7 seconds remaining.

Jones is the main story, running for two touchdowns for 143 yards on 17 carries. Montana has gone seven-of-15 for 101 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Alemany quarterback Vernon Adams finished four-of-seven for 109 yards and one touchdown.
