Edison defensive back Luke Eddy leveled Los Alamitos receiver Josh Gasser, causing a fumble that was scooped up and returned about 40 yards for a touchdown by Steven Malone to give the Chargers a 13-7 lead over the Griffins early in the second quarter.
Los Alamitos Coach John Barnes was so upset about the call--he apparently believed it was an incomplete pass--that he came onto the field before Edison could kick the extra point. But the call stood and now Edison has scored 13 consecutive points after falling behind early.
