Washington has cut its deficit to 42-28 at halftime in its City Section Division I semifinal playoff game at the Galen Center.
The Generals, making their first semifinal appearance since 1994, came out nervous and ineffective. They fell behind, 29-5.
But in the second quarter, they got their act together. Stephon Dafney connected on a pair of three-pointers and Michaelyn Scott contributed five points. Maybe Westchester got a little overconfident, too.
Denzel Douglas is the top scorer for Westchester with 11 points.
