Junior 800-meter runner Amy Weissenbach of Studio City Harvard-Westlake has been named the Gatorade national girls’ track and field athlete of the year.
Weissenbach was notified Thursday night at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.
Weissenbach set a national record this month when she won the state championship in the 800.
