Girls’ basketball: Bishop Amat in control of 3A final

After outscoring Oak Park 16-5 in the third quarter, Bishop Amat has built a commanding 41-18 with eight minutes left in the Southern Section Division 3A championship game at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Sophomores Paulina Santana (14 points), Dagmar Ramirez (10 points) and Kaysee Tayag (nine) are pacing the third-seeded Lancers, who are shooting 44.4% from the field.

Two players have accounted for all of top-seeded Oak Park’s points. Guard Kelsey Haines has 11 and forward Sara Bucknovitz has seven.
