Baseball: Mater Dei vs. Bishop Amat is Thursday night

It doesn’t get much better than Thursday night’s 6 p.m. prep baseball opener matching La Puente Bishop Amat and Rio Ruiz against host Santa Ana Mater Dei and Ty Moore.

These two perennial powers should put on quite a show.

Ruiz, a USC commit, could be a first-round draft pick. Moore, a UCLA signee, was the top player in the Trinity League last season.
