Football: How many sophomores will be on Mater Dei’s varsity?

One of the big questions this coming spring, summer and fall is how many players off Mater Dei’s outstanding 10-0 freshman football team will make varsity?

It’s going to depend on need and the maturity of the players, varsity Coach Bruce Rollinson said.

‘I have to be comfortable, whether they’re a backup or starting, that they can handle it,’ Rollinson said. ‘We’re just starting on personnel. We’ll look at some of them in spring football.’

Clearly, the Monarchs have a lot of players who were talented freshmen.

‘I won’t lie to you,’ Rollinson said. ‘There’s some dudes down there.’
