Trent Chatterton delivered a two-out, two-strike RBI single to left field in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Garden Grove Pacifica a 3-2 victory over Aliso Niguel in the Southern Section Division 2 championship game at Dodger Stadium.

Devan Campos led off the inning with a double. He was sacrificed to third. After a walk, Cody Bistline’s bunt was fielded by Aliso Niguel, and the runner on third got into a run down and was tagged out. Runners ended up on second and third with two outs.

Freshman pitcher Kyle Molnar gave up the game-winning hit.

Both schools played near-flawless defense. There was one error the entire game. Aliso Niguel starter Brett Barker went nine innings, striking out seven and walking none. Max Bethell replaced Kyle Davis in the ninth and threw two shutout innings.
