Encino Crespi has had difficulty running the ball the last two seasons, but sophomore running back Okalani Langi showed Saturday night in Tucson, Ariz., that things could be different this season.

The Celts routed host Salpointe Catholic, 35-20. Langi rushed for 142 yards in 20 carries and caught a 12-yard TD pass from quarterback Cody Cordell, who threw three TD passes and completed 17 of 25 passes for 240 yards.

Crespi’s first-string defense was outstanding for much of the game. The Celts stopped Salpointe on fourth-and-goal from the one yard line on the opening drive of the game. The defense recorded five sacks, and Tyler Foreman had an interception.

Crespi returns to the area on Sunday and will get ready for a Friday game against Woodland Hills Taft.
