The best cornerback in Southern California, junior Adoree’ Jackson of Gardena Serra, is having a hard time getting sweaty on defense. Quarterbacks are shying away from challenging him.
‘He’s bored,’ Coach Scott Altenberg said. ‘That’s why we’re playing him on offense.’
Serra plays Chaminade on Friday in a Mission League opener that could decide the league championship. Chaminade has some outstanding receivers, so it will be interesting if the Eagles try to challenge Jackson.
Jackson, the state long jump champion as a sophomore, is one of the best athletes in the state. Serra wants to feature him, and for good reason. When he has the ball, good things happen.
