Baseball: Cypress advances to National Classic championship game

Elijah Skipps had a double, triple and single and drove in two runs to lead Cypress past Gahr, 9-7, in a semifinal game of the National Classic on Wednesday. Brandon Alamo and Tyler Alamo added two hits apiece for Cypress (12-3), which advances to Thursday night’s 7:30 p.m. final at Cal State Fullerton against Orange Lutheran.

Orange Lutheran defeated Esperanza, 1-0. Matt Hammonds threw a two-hitter, striking out four. Jason Martin went three for three.
