Jewish Group Urges Probe of Clinic Arsons

NEW YORK — The American Jewish Committee has urged the U.S. government to intensify its investigation of the “escalating violence against women’s health and abortion clinics.”
Susie Elson, head of the committee’s women’s issues committee, said that in the last year there have been 24 incidents of arson and fire bombing of such facilities, many of which also report harassment of staffs and patients.
“These violent acts are not only illegal but dangerous,” she said.
