Soap Star to Ride With Police:Joseph Mascolo, star of NBC-TV’s “Days of Our Lives,” will join the Santa Ana Police Department for one shift when he rides on patrol with Officer Mike Hamann this afternoon. Hamann’s wife won a lunch date with a daytime soap star in a contest and her date turned out to be Mascolo, who plays the infamous Stefano di Mera, a character often at odds with law enforcement. She told him about her husband’s work and the ride-along was arranged.
