Firefighter Hurt Battling Blaze in Bellflower Store
A firefighter was injured Friday when he fell through the roof of a burning Bellflower furniture store, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
The three-alarm blaze did an estimated $150,000 damage to the 6,000-square-foot King of Solid Oaks store at 17450 Bellflower Blvd. shortly after 1 p.m.
Taken to Doctors Hospital of Lakewood with minor back injuries and the effects of smoke inhalation was Capt. Thomas Pinn, 43. A Fire Department official said Pinn would remain in intensive care for observation of his lung condition.
Fifteen county fire companies battled the fire for 40 minutes. It was not immediately known how it began.
