Ida Milgrom, mother of jailed Soviet human rights activist Anatoly Shcharansky, said she has received official confirmation that her son has arrived at a detention camp in the Ural Mountains. She told a Western reporter in Moscow that she has been authorized to visit him on Jan. 14. Shcharansky, 36, was sentenced in 1978 to a prison 500 miles east of Moscow. His whereabouts have been unknown since his mother failed in an attempt to see him after he completed the first of two prison terms in October.
