Two teen-age prisoners escaped from a work detail near Victorville in a truck carrying a portable toilet. The pair fled shortly after noon Tuesday, while cleaning debris from the shoulder of Interstate 15 near Amargosa Road, said Steve Shaw, spokesman for the Kenner Canyon State Camp, a Los Angeles County facility operated by the California Youth Authority. He identified the prisoners as convicted burglars Scott Benscoter of Los Angeles and Obell Morton of Riverside, both 18. The truck was parked 300 feet from the prisoners with the key in the ignition.
