A suspected burglar was shot to death by two sheriff’s deputies in East Los Angeles when he allegedly lunged at them with a knife. A sheriff’s spokesman said the deputies were responding to a silent alarm at the Dan River Inc. linen supply company at 5136 Triggs St. When the deputies, whose names were not released, arrived, they saw a man inside the building. The two deputies obtained a key to the building from a security guard and opened the door. They ordered the suspect out, and as he walked out, he allegedly lunged at them with a knife. Both deputies opened fire, killing the suspect, who was not immediately identified.
