Bicyclist Stabbed; 4 Robbers Get $1
A Garden Grove bicyclist was stabbed in the back Saturday in a robbery that netted his four assailants $1, Garden Grove police said.
Sgt. Paul Figner said that Kenneth J. Calfee, 32, and Douglass Somers, 34, both of Garden Grove, were bicycling past apartment buildings in the 11700 block of Stuart Street about 1:35 a.m. Saturday, when four men stopped them and demanded money.
When Calfee turned and tried to run, Figner said, one of the men managed to stab him in the back. Calfee was taken to Fountain Valley Community Hospital, where he was in serious condition Saturday night. Somers was not injured.
Investigators said the robbers got $1.
