WASHINGTON — The MX intercontinental ballistic missile successfully completed its seventh flight test Friday, placing six unarmed warheads in an ocean target range more than 4,100 miles from its California launching site, the Air Force said.
The 192,000-pound missile was launched from a pad at Vandenberg Air Force Base. It carried six unarmed warheads, all of which landed in the South Pacific missile test range near Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
