1984 Building in L. A. County Surpassed 1983
Building activity in Los Angeles County totaled $1,398,206,290 in 27,547 permits for calendar year 1984, up from the $1,084,033,530 in 24,955 permits for 1983, according to County Engineer Stephen J. Koonce.
The figures cover unincorporated county areas, plus 26 cities served by the building and safety division. December building activity consisted of 2,210 permits valued at $116,588,680, up from 2,025 permits valued at $104,618,500 in December, 1983.
Twenty-two permits valued more than $500,000 each were issued in December, Koonce said. The largest permit, valued at $4.3 million, was for a retail store in La Verne.
