Reagan, Fahd Conclude Talks
WASHINGTON — President Reagan and Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd today concluded talks on the Middle East following a high-level review of the new PLO-Jordanian peace initiative.
The final 75-minute breakfast session at the White House between Reagan and the Arab monarch was “warm and friendly,” deputy press secretary Larry Speakes said, “providing the leaders with a personal understanding of each other’s point of view.” Of the PLO-Jordanian agreement, Speakes said “any declared intention to pursue a peaceful settlement of the Middle East conflict would be a constructive step.”
