A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot from a passing car as he stood in front of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in East Los Angeles. Peter Ledezma died at Santa Marta Hospital. Sheriff’s homicide detectives said the killing appeared to be the work of a street gang. Witnesses said someone shouted a gang slogan from the car as it sped away. The officers did not say whether the victim was a gang member.
