AWARD FOR DUNN
Linwood G. Dunn has been voted the Gordon E. Sawyer Award, to be presented at Academy Award ceremonies March 25.
Dunn is legendary in the movie business for the special photographic effects he created for many RKO Radio Pictures productions, including “King Kong,” “Cimarron,” “Citizen Kane” and the 1949 Oscar-winner for special effects, “Mighty Joe Young.”
He pioneered in 16-millimeter special optical effects and made the first feature film enlargement from a 16- to a 35-millimeter color internegative.
