Aid Set for Teen Unit, Policeman’s Widow
Nice Guys, a group of San Diegans committed to raising money and distributing it to persons or organizations in need of financial help, has named its latest recipients of $54,000 to be distributed Wednesday.
They include Freeway, the alcohol and drug abuse counseling program for teen-agers, which will receive $35,000. The Police Officers Assn. will receive $5,000 for Kathy Ruopp, widow of officer Timothy Roupp. Other contributions ranging in size from $500 to $4,500 will also be distributed. Nice Guys raises funds through its yearly auction, to be held May 17 at the San Diego Hilton on Mission Bay.
