Kennedy Girls Gain Spot in 3-A Playoffs
The Kennedy High School girls basketball team defeated El Dorado Friday night, 45-40, in a one-game playoff at South Junior High School to determine the Empire League’s third and final representative in the Southern Section 3-A playoffs.
The Irish trailed, 33-32, after three quarters, but outscored the Golden Hawks, 13-7, in the final quarter. Janelle Frese led Kennedy with 18 points, and teammate Ursula Lovely added 14. Cathy Newvine led El Dorado with 21 while Jill Matyuch added 12.
