Driver, 21, Killed, Passenger Injured in One-Car Crash
A 21-year-old driver was killed and his passenger severely injured early Sunday in a single-car traffic accident, Orange police said.
The identity of the driver, who was dead at the scene, was being withheld pending notification of kin, said Lt. Dean Richards.
Police said the car was southbound on Batavia Street about 4 a.m. when it veered across the dividing line and struck a power pole near Acacia Avenue.
A passenger, who was not identified by police, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, Richards said.
The accident is under investigation.
