Festival of U.S. Wines Set in March
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Harrah’s Marina Hotel Casino will host the second annual “Wines of America” festival featuring more than 35 premier California, Washington and Oregon wineries March 22-24.
Wine enthusiasts will attend wine tastings, seminars, panel discussions led by top wine makers in the United States and gourmet meals highlighted by Champagnes and wines.
Jerry Mead, syndicated wine columnist; Leon Adams, author of “Wines of America,” and Kevin Zraly, columnist for Wine Spectator, will open the weekend Friday evening. A welcome tasting featuring the 35 wineries will also be held.
Saturday activities include a seminar featuring a visual tour of three California wineries, F. Korbel and Brothers, Wente Brothers and Charles Krug.
Wines With Each Course
A gourmet dinner featuring wines with each course tops off Saturday’s festivities. Wine makers and wine owners will comment on individual wines as each are served.
Participating wineries include Beaulieu, Beringer, Burgess Cellars, Cakebread, Carneros Creek, Conn Creek, Chateau St. Michelle, Clos Du Bois, Clos Du Val, Domaine Chandon, Dry Creek, Far Niente, Jekel Vineyards, Jordan, F. Korbel and Brothers, Mirassou, Rex Hill, Robert Mondavi, Charles Krug, Robert Pepi, Sebastiani, Sequoia Grove, Sonoma, Sterling, Trefethen, Wente Brothers and ZD Wines.
