Israeli Emigration Rises

JERUSALEM — The number of Israelis who emigrated last year rose to 17,000 compared to 3,000 in 1983, official figures showed Thursday. A Cabinet report to Parliament said that nearly 80,000 Israelis had emigrated in the past five years, many of them discharged soldiers unable to find jobs.
