Fountain Valley : Public Hearing Set on Brookhurst St. Rezoning
A public hearing has been set for Tuesday night’s City Council meeting on a proposal to rezone 11 acres of land at the southwest corner of Brookhurst Street and Ellis Avenue from general agriculture to commercial.
The proposal was submitted by Diversified Shopping Centers, acting as an agent for the property owners, Irene Vermeulen and Joseph Callens. If approved by the council, the exact zoning would be “local business district.”
Plans call for the construction of a 103,000-square-foot shopping center anchored by a 35,650-square-foot Lucky Stores supermarket and a CVS drugstore, Planning Director Clint Sherrod said.
