Pleasant, Dry Weekend on Tap for Southland

The weekend weather should be generally good, thanks to a high-pressure area over the Southwest that is dominating Southern California’s weather picture, the National Weather Service said Thursday.

Skies will be partly cloudy, but there will be no rain, the weather service predicted. Highs in the low 70s and overnight temperatures in the upper 40s or low 50s are expected at most Southland recording stations.

Weekend sailors will experience southwesterly swells, with winds to 15 knots. The surf will run between two and three feet at 10-second intervals.

Southern California mountain resort communities will be partly cloudy, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s.

The skies will be cloudy in San Francisco, with temperatures peaking in the middle 60s.

San Diego will see morning clouds, with clearing skies in the afternoon and highs in the upper 60s. Las Vegas will be partly cloudly, with readings in the upper 60s.
