The company said a proposal by a Department of Health and Human Services’ task force to exclude the company from government contracts is “not warranted by the facts or the law.” The task force proposed suspending Paradyne Corp. because it said the computer maker misrepresented its ability to fulfill a $118-million contract awarded by the Social Security Administration in 1981. Paradyne said it won the contract fairly, delivered on time and “didn’t mislead the Social Security Administration in any way.”
