A tip from an anonymous informant led Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies to a second-floor apartment in Lynwood where they found Blanca Sanchez Reyes, 17, who was reported abducted March 12 by two smugglers after her father, Manuel Reyes, 48, was unable to pay them $600 for bringing him and his daughter from Mexico. Deputies arrested Rosa Romera Gomez, 28, in the Stockwell Drive apartment. She was held on suspicion of kidnaping for ransom. Tijuana police arrested Bulmaro Lopez Chavez, 30, and held him for U.S. authorities, who said he would be charged with kidnaping and rape.
