A second suspect in the attempted burglary Tuesday of the home of an off-duty police officer has been brought to police headquarters by his father. Anthony Henri Brown Jr., 18, of Logan Avenue was booked on suspicion of burglary, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. Robinson said the elder Brown’s car was found parked in front of Officer Robert Connaughy’s San Ysidro home. Connaughy was off-duty when he surprised two burglary suspects in his home. He shot one suspect who reportedly lunged at him with a screwdriver. Arrested Tuesday was Emil Joseph Jones, 18, who remains under guard at Mercy Hospital where he is recovering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Jones was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
