The government Thursday ordered the release of 18 people, including two journalists, who were detained six days for stoning the Israeli pavilion at the Cairo trade fair and burning U.S. and Israeli flags.

The demonstrations started last Friday at the fairgrounds when people protesting Israel’s participation in the fair shouted anti-Israeli slogans and distributed leaflets calling for a freeze of the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty.
