Eight people, several of them from the Los Angeles area, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Houston on suspicion of allegedly manufacturing bogus credit cards after obtaining the names and account histories of VISA and MasterCard holders. Assistant. U.S. Atty. James Sabalos said that the indictments are only part of “a much broader case” and that investigators have names of at least 4,000 victims, many of them prominent. Lists containing the names of up to 3 million people may have been stolen from microfilm records, he said. Those indicted included Bruce Vincent Talbot, 42, and Joy Kingstro, 32, both of Los Angeles, and Clifton W. Johnson, 29, in jail in Los Angeles.
