Yorba Linda : Young Woman Killed in Fiery Auto Crash
A 23-year-old Wrightwood woman was killed Tuesday when her car ran off a road and struck a car parked at a gas station, authorities said.
Deborah E. Sargent died almost immediately after the 2:30 a.m. crash--probably just moments before her 1984 Honda burst into flames, police said.
Sargent was traveling west, in excess of 55 m.p.h. in a 40-m.p.h. zone, on Imperial Highway near Main Street when her car failed to make a turn, said Lt. Jim Winder of the Brea police, who patrol Yorba Linda.
The car jumped a curb and smashed into a car parked at the Union 76 service station, at 18351 Imperial Highway, Winder said. He said the car burst into flames after the crash.
