6 Hurt in Pileup by Hollywood, Ventura Freeway Juncture
Six people were injured Tuesday, one critically, in a four-car accident in the southbound lanes of the Hollywood Freeway near where it meets the Ventura Freeway, a Los Angeles fire official said.
The two most seriously injured persons, both women, were transported by helicopter to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. Two others were taken to Medical Center of North Hollywood. The remaining two suffered injuries too minor to require hospital treatment, city fire spokesman Jim Wells said.
The accident, which occurred at 7:26 p.m. near the Hollywood Freeway exit at Vineland Avenue, brought traffic to a standstill on the Hollywood Freeway near Studio City, authorities said.
