Dissident Libyan military officers tried twice recently to assassinate Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi, who responded by executing dozens of officers, according to intelligence reports reaching the Reagan Administration. The Washington Post quoted the reports as saying the first attempt by conservative Libyan officers occurred in early March at a presidential villa outside Tripoli. In the second attempt, plotters assaulted a convoy in which they thought Kadafi was traveling, the paper reported.
