Fairfax Hands Grant First Loss of Season

Grant High had ace pitcher Rodney Beck on the mound, but Fairfax upset the Lancers, 3-2, in an East Valley League game Thursday. It was Grant’s first loss of the season in eight games.

Beck entered with a 0.34 earned run average, second best in the Valley. Fairfax (3-5) scored twice in the third, however, and added another in the sixth.
