Innocent Plea Entered in Four Slayings

SANTA BARBARA — A 37-year-old man pleaded innocent Wednesday to killing his parents, sister and niece but delayed making any insanity plea until another hearing Tuesday.
Barry Wayne McNamara, who remains in custody without bail, is charged with murdering Elger Wayne McNamara, 57; Florence Barbara McNamara, 56; Diane McNamara Trenner, 31, and Kellin Brooke Trenner, 4, at the family’s mountainside ranch Jan. 5. He could face death in the gas chamber if convicted.
