Jamul
A 51-year-old emergency room nurse from Jamul was ordered to stand trial Thursday in the shooting death of her former boyfriend.
Alice June Dimaculangan was bound over for trial by San Diego Municipal Court Judge Nicholas Kasimatis on a murder charge in the April 2 death of Kent Kasha, 39, of Otay Mesa.
The shooting occurred in Dimaculangan’s van, which was parked on Shelter Island around 1:30 p.m. Witnesses said they saw the pair both fall from the van, fighting.
O’Neill said Dimaculangan worked in the emergency room at Kaiser Hospital in San Diego until her arrest. Michael Popkins, her attorney, argued that the judge should only order her trial on manslaughter charges instead of murder.
