Truck Slips Off Jack; Man Fatally Injured
An Escondido man was fatally injured Friday morning when a truck he was repairing at a construction site in Laguna Niguel slipped off a jack and crushed him, authorities said.
Robert Monita, 21, died shortly before 10 a.m. in Mission Community Hospital, where he was taken after Orange County firefighters extricated him from beneath the water truck, according to the coroner’s office.
