Former Wife of DeLorean Will Wed TV Official
Christina Ferrare, recently divorced from auto maker John Z. DeLorean, will marry ABC Broadcast Group President Anthony Thomopoulos in a private ceremony today, a friend of the couple said Friday.
Wallis Annenberg, the daughter of TV Guide owner and former ambassador Walter Annenberg, said the “very private ceremony” will take place at her Beverly Hills home.
The DeLoreans’ divorce was granted in Los Angeles on April 8, attorney John Paone, of Woodbridge, N.J., said. But a decision is still pending on DeLorean’s move to get the property-division phase of the divorce case transferred to a court in New Jersey, where DeLorean now maintains a 430-acre estate as his legal residence. California divorce law requires equal division of marital property. New Jersey law does not.
Ferrare, 34, filed for divorce in California last October, three weeks after DeLorean, 59, was acquitted on charges that he conspired to sell $24 million worth of cocaine to save the failing DeLorean Motor Co. She had faithfully attended the seven-month trial.
Ferrare, co-host on KABC-TV’s talk show, “A.M. Los Angeles,” married DeLorean on May 8, 1973.
