Sockers Will Face Comets in Playoffs on Wednesday
The Sockers will begin Major Indoor Soccer League playoff action at home against Kansas City at 7:35 on Wednesday night in the Sports Arena.
Game 2 in the best-of-five series will be at the Sports Arena at 7:35 on Friday night. Game 3 will be at Kansas City on Sunday at 1:35 p.m. Game 4, if necessary, will be at Kansas City on Tuesday, April 30 at 5:35 p.m. Game 5, if necessary, will be at San Diego on Friday, May 3 at 7:35 p.m.
The Sockers were 37-11 in regular-season play, setting a league win record. They will have a home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Kansas City was 22-26 in the regular season, finishing fourth in the Western Division. The Comets swept two games from St. Louis last week in a best-of-three wild-card series.
Minnesota won the third and decisive game of the other wild-card series on Sunday night by defeating Wichita in overtime, 3-2. Had Wichita won, it would have been the Sockers’ first-round opponent.
